Catching up on Top prospects transactions

The Trade Deadline kind of got in the way of me getting this up sooner. Here are the transactions through July 27. Be sure to check out Prospect Watch for updates — any player traded has been re-shuffled into their new organizations, where appropriate. Just a quick list now, folks. I’ll be back with some stuff from the East Coast Pro Showcase (Draft fans) soon.

 

TRADES:

Arodys Vizcaino (CHC, No 3): Traded from Atlanta to Chicago as top prospect in Paul Maholm/Reed Johnson trade.

Leon Landry (SEA, No 18 — will be added soon): Traded from the Dodgers to Seattle as part of Brandon League deal.

Robbie Grossman (HOU, No. 17): Sent to the Astros from Pittsburgh as part of the Wandy Rodriguez trade.

Rudy Owens (HOU, No. 19): Sent to the Astros from Pittsburgh as part of the Wandy Rodriguez trade.

Charlie Culberson (COL, No. 14): Traded from Giants to Colorado in exchange for Marco Scutaro and cash considerations.

Pedro Hernandez (MIN, No. 20): Traded from White Sox to Twins in Francisco Liriano deal.

Jean Segura (MIL, No. 1): Part of the package the Angels sent to Milwaukee on July 27 in the Zack Greinke trade.

Ariel Pena (MIL, No. 12): Part of the package the Angels sent to Milwaukee on July 27 in the Zack Greinke trade.

Johnny Hellweg (MIL, No. 6): Part of the package the Angels sent to Milwaukee on July 27 in the Zack Greinke trade.

TRANSACTIONS:

Edwar Cabrera (COL, No. 16): Made another spot start on July 24.

Ethan Stewart (PHI, No. 18): Placed on the disabled list on July 25 with blisters on his pitching hand.

Austin Wates (HOU, No. 16): Placed on the disabled list on July 25, with a groin injury.

Eddie Rosario (MIN, No. 3): Started a rehab assignment after missing a month and a half after being hit in the face by a line drive in June 12.

Kevan Smith (CWS, No. 11): Promoted to Class A Advanced Winston-Salem on July 25.

Christian Colon (KC, No. 8): Rejoined Double-A Northwest Arkansas on July 25 after rehabbing a foot injury.

Tyler Austin (NYY, No. 5.): Returned on July 25 after missing three weeks after being hit in the head with a pitch.

Roberto Osuna (TOR, No. 18): Promoted to Class A Short-Season Vancouver on July 25.

Anthony Rendon (WSH, No. 1): Began a rehab assignment after missing most of the season with an ankle injury.

Cesar Puello (NYM, No. 5): Briefly returned from a hand injury, but was placed on the DL again on July 25 with a hamstring injury.

Telvin Nash (HOU, No. 14): Placed on the disabled list with an ankle injury on July 25.

Josh Osich (SF, No. 17): Placed on the disabled list with a shoulder impingement on July 25.

Robert Stephenson (CIN, No. 3): Promoted to Class A Dayton on July 26.

Paul Clemens (HOU, No. 8): Demoted to Double-A Corpus Christi on July 26, after struggling in Triple-A.

Cory Mazzoni (NYM, No. 18): Returned on July 26 after missing a week with a laceration on his right thumb.

Starling Marte (PIT, No. 3): Called up to the Majors for the first time on July 26.

Jarred Cosart (HOU, No. 2): Promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on July 26.

Sean Gilmartin (ATL, No. 5): Promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on July 27.

Glynn Davis (BAL, No. 8): Promoted to Class A Advanced Frederick on July 27.

Matthew Szczur (CHC, No. 3): Promoted to Double-A Tennessee on July 27.

Simon Castro (CWS, No. 6): Returned to the DL on July 27.

Felix Sterling (CLE, No. 9): Demoted to the Arizona League after posting a 6.07 ERA with Class A Lake County.

Andrew Oliver (DET, No. 2): Returned on July 27 after two weeks on the DL with shoulder fatigue.

Matthew Hauser (MIN, No. 17): Promoted to Double-A New Britain on July 27.

Andrew Romine (LAA, No. 9): Called up to the Majors for the third time this season on July 27.

Alex Santana (LAD, No. 14): Sent to the Arizona League on July 27.

Brock Kjeldgaard (MIL, No. 16): Designated for assignment on July 27. He cleared waivers and was assigned to Double-A Huntsville.

Tyler Thornburg (MIL, No. 5): Returned to Triple-A Nashville after a two week stint in the Majors.

Carter Capps (SEA, No. 8): Promoted to Triple-A Tacoma on July 27.

Neil Ramirez (TEX, No. 7): Returned from a DL stint with shoulder soreness on July 27.

Jimmy Nelson (MIL, No. 9): Returned on July 28 after missing nearly a month with shoulder fatigue.

Francisco Peguero (SF, No. 2): Returned on July 28 after missing three weeks with a left side strain.

Derek Dietrich (TB, No. 20): Promoted to Double-A Montgomery on July 28.

Marcus Semien (CWS, No. 9): Placed on the DL with a left knee injury.

Keenyn Walker (CWS, No. 5): Placed on the disabled list on July 28 with a left shoulder injury.

Nestor Molina (CWS, No. 1): Returned on July 30 after two weeks on the DL with tendinitis.

Tyler Saladino (CWS, No. 7): Promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on July 30.

Khris Davis (MIL, No. 15): Promoted to Triple-A Nashville on July 30.

Derek Norris (OAK, No. 6): Returned to Triple-A Sacramento on July 30 after more than a month in the Majors.

Aaron Altherr (PHI, No. 12): Placed on the disabled list on July 30 with a left leg injury.

Brody Colvin (PHI, No. 3): Promoted to Double-A Reading on July 30.

Jonathan Pettibone (PHI, No. 9): Promoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on July 30.

Michael Blazek (STL, No. 1): Promoted to Triple-A Memphis on July 30.

Brad Boxberger (SD, No. 10): Called up again on July 31.
