Here’s the latest. Sept. 1 is looming, so the movement to the big leagues should be very interesting on Prospect Watch.
Alex Meyer (WSH, No. 2): Placed on the disabled list on August 27.
Casey Kelly (SD, No. 1): Made his Major League debut on August 27, pitching 6 scoreless innings against the Braves.
Brad Peacock (OAK, No. 2): Peacock was placed on the disabled list on August 27, after taking a line drive off his right elbow.
Austin Wood (LAA, No. 18): Placed on the disabled list on August 25.
Austin Brice (MIA, No. 12): Placed on the disabled list on August 25, with right forearm tendinitis.
Francisco Peguero (SF, No. 2): Made his Major League debut on August 25.
Tyrell Jenkins (STL, No. 5): Shut down prior to his final start of the season, after injuring his right shoulder on August 25.
Jesus Solorzano (MIA, No. 10): Placed on the disabled list on August 24 with a right groin strain.
Jose Iglesias (BOS, No. 12): Called him up to fill the void left by Nick Punto’s departure in the blockbuster trade with Los Angeles.
J.C. Linares (BOS, No. 18): Placed on the disabled list with a finger injury.
Robert Whitenack (CHC, No. 8): Placed on the disabled list on August 24.
Simon Castro (CWS, No. 6): Returned to Double-A Birmingham on August 24, after 5 starts in Triple-A.
Luke Putkonen (DET, No. 19): Made his seventh appearance in the big leagues the year (and first since May) but returned to the Minors shortly thereafter.
Yordano Ventura (KC, No. 11): Returned to action on August 24 after a brief DL stay with carpal tunnel.
Pedro Hernandez (MIN, No. 20): Placed on the disabled list on August 23 with a left latissimus dorsi strain. “
Robert Stock (STL, No. 12): Returned from the DL.
Alex Colome (TB, No. 13): Placed on the disabled list on August 22.
Glynn Davis (BAL, No. 8): Promoted to Class A Advanced Frederick for the second time this year, after a brief return to Delmarva.
Brandon Maurer (SEA, No. 14): Shut down by the Mariners after reaching an innings limit set by the organization.
Justin Wilson (PIT, No. 8): Made his Major League debut on August 20, striking out the side in a single inning of work.
Phillippe Aumont (PHI, No. 7): Made his Major League debut on August 23, pitching a scoreless inning against the Reds.
Darrell Ceciliani (NYM, No. 16): Returned from his third DL stint this year with a hamstring injury.
Dorssys Paulino (CLE, No. 12): Sent to Short Season Mahoning Valley on August 21.
Juan Rodriguez (LAD, No. 9): Sent to extended spring camp on August 21.
Brandon Short (CWS, No. 18): Promoted to Double-A Birmingham.
Tyler Skaggs (ARI, No. 3): Made his Major League debut on August 22, recording a win against Miami.
Ben Wells (CHC, No. 13): Began a rehab assignment on August 22.
Jacob Turner (MIA, No. 1): Called up on August 22.
Kyle Gibson (MIN, No. 6): Joined Triple-A Rochester.
Dellin Betances (NYY, No. 2): Placed on the disabled list with right shoulder soreness.
A.J. Griffin (OAK, No. 11):Began a rehab assignment on August 22 to recover from a strained right shoulder.
Phillippe Aumont (PHI, No. 7):Made his Major League debut on August 21, pitching a scoreless inning against Cincinnati.
Kyle McPherson (PIT, No. 9):Returned to the Minors after making his Major League debut on August 20.
Christian Lopes (TOR, No. 19): Sent to short-season Class A Vancouver on August 21.
